Privacy policy

Effective October 23, 2026. Applies to the JoboCop browser extension and jobocop.app.

In short: what you enter stays in your browser. JoboCop has no accounts, no ads and no analytics, and doesn't sell data. Two things leave your browser, and only as described below: questions you ask an AI to draft, sent to the AI provider you picked, and, unless you say no, the addresses of job postings you fill, save or apply to, sent to us without anything that identifies you.

1. What JoboCop stores, and where

Everything below is stored only in your browser's extension storage (chrome.storage.local) on your computer. It is not sent to us.

You can export, import or delete this data at any time in Settings. Removing the extension deletes it.

2. AI drafts (only if you turn them on)

AI drafting is off until you pick a provider in AI answers. When you ask for drafts, JoboCop sends the following straight from your browser to the provider you picked. It does not go through us.

SentThe questions to answer and their options, the text of the job posting on the page, and these profile details: preferred and first name, location and time zone, links, current title and company, years of experience, education, work authorization and sponsorship answers, relocation, salary, notice period and start date, additional information, cover letter, resume text, and your previous saved answers.
Never sentYour email address, phone number, street address, and voluntary self-identification answers (gender, race and ethnicity, veteran and disability status).
Where it goesOne of: Anthropic (api.anthropic.com), OpenAI (api.openai.com), Google Gemini (generativelanguage.googleapis.com), DeepSeek (api.deepseek.com), using your own API key; or Claude Code on your own computer through a small local program (the "bridge") you install yourself. The provider's own terms and privacy policy apply to what you send them.

Drafts are written into empty fields for you to review and are only saved when you save them.

3. Job site sharing (you can say no)

To learn which job sites to support next, JoboCop can send us a short record each time you fill, save or apply to a job. Nothing is sent until you answer the notice the extension shows when you first use it, and you can turn it off at any time in Settings > Job sites. Saying no deletes anything waiting to be sent.

SentThe day (no time), the event (saved, filled or applied), the address of the job page and of the application form, and the name of the application system (for example Greenhouse or Workday).
Cleaned firstAddresses are cut down to the site and page path. Query strings and fragments, which can hold tracking or session codes, are removed, except for the few parameters that name the job posting itself. Long codes in the path are masked, and addresses that contain an email address, a user name or password, or a local address are not sent at all.
Never sentYour name, contact details, answers, resume, profile, notes, company or job title you typed, any identifier for you or your browser, or the time of day.
Where it goesapi.jobocop.app, a service we run on Cloudflare. It does not record IP addresses or request logs. The records are used to see which job sites and application systems people use. We may publish counts per site; we never sell these records or use them for advertising.

4. Reading job pages

To fill a form, JoboCop reads the page you are on in your browser. When you save a job link from a supported job site, it fetches that job page directly from the job site, without your cookies, to read the job title, company and posting date. Nothing from these pages is sent to us except as described in section 3.

5. Permissions

6. Chrome Web Store user data policy

The use of information received from Chrome APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. JoboCop uses data only to provide its autofill, job tracking and AI drafting features. It doesn't transfer data to third parties except to the AI provider you choose, at your request; doesn't use or transfer it for advertising, credit-worthiness or lending; and people at JoboCop don't read it.

7. Children

JoboCop is meant for people looking for work and is not directed at children under 16.

8. Changes

If this policy changes, the new version is posted here with a new effective date. If a change affects what leaves your browser, the extension will ask you again before sending anything new.
